Jacqueline D. DeWarr


Jacqueline D. DeWarr is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine, with a B.A. in English and a California Professional Teaching Credential in English. She attended law school at the University of Kansas School of Law, while assisting her husband as an editor for the National Association of Basketball Coaches. While in law school Ms. DeWarr was admitted as a practicing student attorney by the Kansas Supreme Court and represented her first clients through the Douglas County Legal Aid Society and an Elder Law Clinic through Kansas Legal Services. She also served as a court victims-advocate for the District Attorney’s office in Olathe, Kansas in domestic violence matters, obtaining TROs and assisting victims with their testimony in court. Her first trial, while still in law school, involved the successful representation of a father in a child custody dispute.

After returning to her home state of California, Ms. DeWarr has had the opportunity to successfully represent public school districts, non-profit organizations, and other private clients through all stages of litigation and appeal on issues including: contract interpretation disputes, wrongful death, employment issues, free speech, and equal protection issues. She also served as a U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court Clerk. Her current practice includes professional liability, aviation, insurance coverage, and general civil litigation defense.
